Yellow Memories

While South Korea's per capita GDP ranks 25th in the world, the happiness index places us 76th out of 147 countries, putting us in the lower tier. The irony of being relatively economically prosperous yet unhappy is striking. This led to the question, "What is the greatest factor influencing happiness?" To analyze the correlation, I surveyed people around me, The results showed that the activity consuming the most time was "work," while the least amount of time was spent "with family." This artwork expresses the elements that are prioritized for happiness and, ironically, the contrast between these aspects and a life that contradicts them, questioning how one can live a truly happy life amongst the contradictions.

The story begins with him opening his laptop sparklessly, robotically assigning himself to another bottomless ocean of work. While he aimlessly works, cozy memories of cherished moments with his family swing through his mind, unfolding like a yellow-hued panorama. Suddenly, the alarm of the laptop wakes him up and brings him to reality. He closes the laptop as if he knows his next move: spend irreversible time with his beloved family.
