The Two Faces to Liquid

Motion and Photograph Project

In the video, the scene of the metal melting and dripping onto the face signifies the substance impact of industrialization on mankind such as the increase of air pollution and environment-acerbation resulting from industrialization. The expression on the face conveys a sense of adaptation to this irresistible but inevitable change. Human beings cannot do anything but just stare at the process of sacrificing and abusing nature, unable to coexist with it. The face within the soap bubbles in the rendered still-shot represents the uneasy boundaries created by industrialization. It alludes to the search for harmony between the inner self and the external environment.

This artwork raises questions about the relationship between humans and the environment, as well as the issue of coexistence. While the technology created by humans paradoxically threatens both humanity and the environment, the artwork genuinely proposes to deliver a hopeful and encouraging message: that through our choices, coexistence with nature is still possible. The face within the soap bubbles in the rendered still-shot represents the uneasy boundaries created by industrialization.
