The Boundary of Tactile and Visual
Photograph Project
This artwork embarks on an inquiry into the interplay between visual and tactile perception, investigating which sense predominates in our recognition of objects when two contrasting textures coexist within a single space. By draping human skin in the sterility of an industrial environment, it challenges our visual understanding of skin, while juxtaposing its soft, organic essence within a cold, rigid context, thereby prompting a reflection on the boundaries between physical elements.
Some may enjoy this feeling from the factory as it might symbolize warmness. While others may still be determined the barren factorial structure and design provides nothing but an artificial construction. This contradicting experiment poses a question about whether humans are more dependent on tactile experience or visual recognition, prompting a reconsideration of preconceived notions through the emotions felt when both senses coexist.
